A Glimpse of Our College

Nesamony Memorial Christian College, established in 1964 at Marthandam in Kanyakumari District, is a premier institution affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. Guided by a strong missionary vision, the college is dedicated for providing quality education and promoting the empowerment of economically and socially marginalized communities in southern India. The institution offers a wide range of academic programmes, including 18 undergraduate, 15 postgraduate, and 12 doctoral courses. With a distinguished National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking of 63rd the highest in Kanyakumari District the college continues to uphold a tradition of academic excellence. It has been re-accredited by NAAC in 2025, reflecting its enduring commitment to educational quality and social responsibility.

Department at a Glance

The Department of Physics was established in 1966 and has since evolved into a recognised centre for academic and research excellence offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The Department of Physics and Research Centre is supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members who actively contribute to the advancement of knowledge through impactful research and publications.

The department is equipped with a well established library, computer laboratory, synthesis laboratory, and two advanced physics laboratories that provide students with enriching hands-on learning experiences. With a mission to deliver quality education and foster innovation, the department strives to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to meet the challenges of emerging technologies and future scientific advancements.
